This beautiful object is a mid-20th-century art deco burr-wood smoker's cabinet (or cigarette dispenser box), typically crafted in England or continental Europe around the 1930s to 1950s.
Concertina Storage: Opening the top lid triggers a mechanical link that self-opens the angled side wing compartments, designed to hold cigarettes or matchboxes.
Integrated Ashtray: The central top compartment holds the original blue pressed-glass ashtray.
Decorative Cabinetry: The exterior features figured burr-walnut veneers with book-matched panels, geometric wood inlay borders, and two small central drawers accented by spherical green Bakelite or glass knobs.
Authentic condition with few parts of veneer missing and original marks.
