This is a classic late Georgian, mahogany, English chest of drawers dating to early c.1800.
This large chest has seven drawers: three small drawers, two medium drawers, and two full-length drawers. It offers generous storage in an elegant and practical form.
The uppermost drawers contain a light walnut veneer detailing and feature later drop handles. Slim and elegant, the three drawers add to the visual appeal and practicality.
The lower drawers feature bone escutcheons and later brass handles, with all drawers featuring wooden interiors.
The whole drawers sit atop straight economic feet and have an excellent original colour and patina, with special emphasis on the beautiful veneer detail on the side of the cabinet. It would sit equally well in a fine drawing room as a dressing area or a period bedroom.
Superb quality and a stunning piece presented in excellent antique condition. Solid joints and construction with authentic and original patina contain aged marks on the top and superficial marks and scratches.
