Historical vintage mirror Q4 is associated with the Cunard Line and the ship historically known as the Q4, which was eventually renamed the Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2).
The "Q4" was the project name (yard number 736) for the ship during its construction at the John Brown & Co shipyard in Clydebank, Scotland, in the 1960s. The name was used until Queen Elizabeth II officially launched and named the liner Queen Elizabeth 2 in September 1967.
The mirror is an original signage from one on the QE2 stairwells.
It served as a deck identifier for deck four in the ship. The number 4 is prominently featured with the Cunard Q logo integrated above it.
The signage was executed in a special, exclusive design material for the ship.
As the QE2 has been retired and is not a floating hotel in Dubai.
The "Q4" designation is also currently used by Cunard to refer to a specific category of Penthouse Suite accommodations on ships like the Queen Victoria and formerly on the Queen Elizabeth. These suites are typically located mid-ship and are part of the Queens Grill class. Q4 suites are generally located mid-ship on specific decks (such as deck 7) and are described as penthouses. They feature elements such as walk-in wardrobes, wet bars, and separate stall showers, distinguishing them from other suite categories.
