The retro sculpture bookends are a well-known piece from the Lindsey B studio, created by artist Ted Balkwill.
Postmodern, strongly influenced by the Art Deco movement.
The sculptures depict a man and a woman in stylised, fashionable poses. The woman features a sharp bob haircut and flowing lines that suggest clothing or a fan, while the man appears behind her with a sleek, abstract appearance.
It is often referred to as "Rick and Rachael" or "Silk".
The piece reflects the popular culture of the late twentieth century and was produced in various finishes, including alabaster, gloss black, and bronzed.
These sculptures were originally produced from the mid-1980s and are now considered collectible items.
Retro condition with minor marks of authentic patina.
