Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a French painter, printmaker, and illustrator who recorded details of the bohemian lifestyle of Paris during the late 19th century. ‘Moulin Rouge: La Goulue’ is a poster by Toulouse-Lautrec depicting the famous cancan dancer La Goulue and her flexible partner Valentin le désossé using just a few lines eptiomizing his simplistic style. The poster was first printed in 1891 to advertise the new dance hall, Moulin Rouge.
