This vintage art nouveau mirror is a stunning piece featuring a beautiful lady wearing a hat. The painting is a collectable design by William Tara, with an intricate foliage background and a swirl effect border in a vivid noir style. The mirror comes with a dark wooden frame and is in excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of an original authentic patina.
William Tara was a talented graphic artist born on July 4, 1916, who unfortunately died penniless in 1973 in the VA Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Despite his artistic abilities, he struggled as a businessman but created many lithography masters for commercial retail sales as a side-line business.
Tara's early lithos were hand watercoloured and signed in pencil, and his line drawings were some of his best works. He attended California Public Schools and Los Angeles City College before becoming a freelance illustrator and designer in 1942.
