Pernod is a famous anise-flavoured spirit containing 14 other botanicals, including coriander and mint. It was first produced as absinthe in 1805, and the modern version was created in 1938. In 1975, Pernod merged with Ricard.
The style of the Pernod advertisement shown is reminiscent of the Art Nouveau movement, particularly the work of Alphonse Mucha or Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. However, without explicitly attributing the advertisement, it is difficult to name the artist definitively.
